Typical timeline:

1 to 3 days.

If you have your documents ready in English or verified translations, KYP clears in days. If documents need to be requested, translated, or apostilled, it takes longer.

SMA setup runs in parallel with final KYP stages.

What we're not asking for:

Your trading IP. We don't need your models, signal sources, risk management code, or historical trade-level data.

We're asking for what's needed to onboard you to infrastructure. Identification. Evidence of a track record. Confirmation that you operate within a legal and regulatory perimeter allowing you to manage external capital.

The boundary between "operationally needed" and "competitively sensitive" is one we take seriously. If a request crosses into the latter, push back.

Where the responsibility sits:

The Investor transfers assets. You operate the strategy. We operate the platform. The custodian holds the assets.

The platform does not select, vet, endorse, or recommend you.

You are solely responsible for your strategy's performance, risk, and regulatory compliance. The platform doesn't guide your strategy. Operating within the terms you agreed is your obligation.

Documented in the Infrastructure Agreement and reflected throughout onboarding.

Before you apply:

You will be asked for:

  • Beneficial ownership records covering 25%+ holders
  • Principal background information
  • Your regulatory status in your home jurisdiction

If these are uncomfortable questions, the platform may not be right for you. If they're the normal questions you've answered for prime brokers and institutional allocators, onboarding will feel familiar.

Your strategy's operating terms:

How your strategy operates (the instruments and markets it uses on Binance, its leverage and exposure, how it handles risk and drawdowns, and your fee) is yours to define and to agree with your investors. It isn't set, monitored, or enforced by MakeBanc.

At setup, MakeBanc configures the technical side of your access: the instruments your API can reach on Binance, limited to those the custodian and platform support. How you run the strategy within that is up to you.

You disclose how the strategy operates so investors can evaluate it. That disclosure is part of your relationship with them, not the infrastructure.

For your operational security obligations, see Operations.

Where to go next:

  1. Know Your Partner, the verification process and what's collected.
  2. SMA account setup, the custody relationship, trade-only access, and the vault connection.
