Fees and settlement
How money moves from earned fees to your wallet.
What you earn, what MakeBanc takes:
You earn a performance fee, typically 30% on gains above the high water mark. MakeBanc charges a payment processing fee on what you earn, set by your tier. That is the only fee charged to you.
The two recurring fees that accrue daily into NAV (the 1% platform fee for custody and infrastructure, and the 1% insurance fee, a pass-through) are paid by investors, not by you. See Fees.
Performance fee crystallisation:
Performance fees only accrue above the high water mark and crystallise at scheduled events (monthly, per your agreement). Between events they accrue in shadow form on your dashboard. Full mechanics in Performance fee mechanics.
On-chain settlement:
At each settlement event, the vault contract calculates the crystallised performance fee, takes MakeBanc's payment processing fee per your tier, sends the remainder to your settlement wallet, and sends the payment processing fee to the fee receiver.
Settlement is on-chain, visible on Base. You can audit it against NAV-per-share history and share count.
Example. $300,000 of performance fees crystallise in a month. At Elite tier (5% payment processing fee), MakeBanc takes $15,000 and you keep $285,000. Your tier determines the exact rate; see The Tier Program.
Statements and disputes:
MakeBanc sends a statement breaking out: performance fee crystallised, payment processing fee taken, net to wallet.
You have ten business days from issuance to query any figure. A correction triggers a restated statement and settles the difference at the next event. After ten business days, the statement is final.
Settlement address:
You designate a USDC settlement address on Base during onboarding. Changes require a signature from the previously designated address. MakeBanc doesn't hold your earned fees beyond the settlement cycle; the escrow is programmatic, not custodial.
At termination:
Shadow-accrued performance fees crystallise at termination if the strategy is above the high water mark. If below, nothing is owed. No further fees accrue. The strategy winds down per SMA account setup.
